FOOD FOR THOUGHT
4 Fall TV Shows You Can’t Miss
Amid the bloodbath of series cancellations, there is a silver lining: new shows are coming to primetime! Here’s a few to start:
- 1. The Good Place. Starring: Kristen Bell and Ted Danson
When it starts: Monday, Sept. 19, at 10 p.m. on NBC, then Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. beginning on Sept. 22. Bell is charming even as a terrible person in this comedy. She plays a woman who is mistakenly sent to “The Good Place” after dying in an embarrassing accident. The bad news is that she definitely doesn’t belong there. The good news is that the results are really hilarious. Not only is it fun to see this unusual imagining of heaven, but the first episode also sets up an intriguing arc for the season. Plus, how could you say no to Danson as a happy-go-lucky public organizer?
- 2. Frequency Network: The CW
Who’s starring: Peyton List
What it’s about: A woman accidentally alters the present when she’s able to contact her father, who is twenty years in the past, in this reboot of the 2000 movie of the same name.
- 3. No Tomorrow Network: The CW
Who’s starring: Tori Anderson and Jesse Rath
What it’s about: A woman falls for a guy in her neighborhood, even though he’s convinced the apocalypse is imminent.
- 4. Timeless Network: NBC
Who’s starring: Abigail Spencer and Matt Lanter
What it’s about: A historian is brought aboard a Homeland Security teams that travels through time.
