Mushroom and Sage Recipe from Splendid Table

This recipe is perfect for aking your LoveDelivery mushrooms and cooking them up for a quick snack. The ingredients are, as follows:

  • 1 tablespoon dairy-free butter (or regular butter, your choice)
  • One 14-ounce (400 g) package of mushrooms (any kind), sliced
  • About 20 sage leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil to taste
  • 2 thick slices sourdough bread
  • 1 garlic clove, whole
  • Drizzle of truffle oil (optional, but highly recommended)

You heat up the butter or vegan butter and fry up the mushrooms. I would probably alter this recipe if it were me to include a splash of white wine. Wine cooked through mushrooms tastes really good. Then you add the sage leaves and cook until crispy. You toast two slices of bread of your choice – any bread would be good here. Once toasted, scrape the surface with a garlic clove and then add your mushroom mixture. Delicious.
